The Indian Army had a heart-breaking news waiting for it on Thursday (13) as ‘Zoom’, one of its reputed dogs which was undergoing treatment at a hospital after receiving a couple of gunshot injuries during an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir recently, died.
Confirming the news, army officials said, “Zoom, under treatment at 54 AFVH (Advance Field Veterinary Hospital ), passed away around 12 noon today. He was responding well till around 11:45 am when he suddenly started gasping & collapsed.”
‘Zoom’ received the injuries during the encounter which took place in Anantnag district of the Union Territory.
On Monday (10), the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps shared a video showing ‘Zoom’ in action & wished him a speedy recovery.

The dog was part of a combat team and was stationed in Anantnag district. Officials said it fractured its rear leg and sustained injuries to its face. He still helped the forces eliminate two extremists after the encounter broke out in the Tangpawa village of Kokernag in the district.
