NOIDA-BASED beauty platform ‘Yes Madam’ apologised on Tuesday after facing widespread criticism for a LinkedIn campaign that falsely implied employees were laid off due to workplace stress.

The company stated the campaign was meant to raise awareness about workplace stress and was not an actual layoff.

The controversy began on Monday when a viral LinkedIn post shared an email that appeared to announce layoffs.

The email stated, “To ensure that no one remains stressed at work, we have made the difficult decision to part ways with employees who indicated significant stress.” This sparked outrage on social media, with users condemning the use of layoffs as a marketing tactic.

‘Yes Madam’ responded by expressing regret for the distress caused and reiterated that it “would never take such a step.”

The firm also announced wellness initiatives for its employees, including the ‘Happy 2 Heal’ program with in-office spa services and a ‘De-stress Leave Policy,’ which provides six paid mental health days and complimentary spa sessions at home.

However, the campaign has drawn continued criticism, with many accusing the company of insensitivity in addressing a serious issue like layoffs.
