VARIOUS social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, went down for several users in India and various countries of the world, outage tracking website Downdetector said.
As a result, users could not load apps, deliver messages or refresh their search feeds on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. While more than 30,000 reports of outages on Facebook were received, more than 20,000 were received on Instagram, the website said.
Many users found themselves getting logged out of their Facebook accounts. They failed despite being asked to log in.
Meta spokesperson Andy Stone said on X that they were working on the issue.
