The prime minister spoke about his visions on India’s role in global affairs and other key issues such as inflation and climate change in an exclusive interview days ahead the summit.

INDIA’s top business leaders and technocrats have praised prime minister Narendra Modi’s vision about India’s role in a multi-polar world after he spoke exclusively to Moneycontrol in an interview days ahead of the G20 summit in New Delhi.
Nandan Nilekani, chairman of India’s information technology giant Infosys, called the interview very comprehensive.
Kris Gopalakrishnan, one of the co-founders of Infosys and chairman of Axilor Ventures that helps start-ups hailed Modi saying the latter’s boosting the economy’s digitalisation through innovations and new models will help their cause, Moneycontrol reported, adding that he also said that such a functioning will encourage start-ups to embrace and build.
T Koshy, managing director and chief executive officer of digital commerce platform ONDC thanked Modi for “his words of encouragement and continued vision and guidance to build a democratic digital commerce in service of an Aatmanirbhar VocalforLocal Bharat”, the report added.
Sunil Munjal, chairman of Hero Corporate Services, praised Modi saying he took a “statesman’s approach” while speaking on the relevance of the G20 today.
“He has rightly made a case for additional voices to be included from the global south. India’s unique approach and efforts have been well articulated by Mr Modi and it’s clear how these can turn the G20 into an even more important grouping. I also endorse his view on an inclusive approach, which makes it relevant for today’s world and for a New India,” Munjal was quoted as saying.
Vallabh Bhansali, co-founder of ENAM Group, said the interview gave people “a clear idea of global views on the country and how grounded PM Modi is about its welfare”, the report added.
In the interview, the prime minister said that India was welcomed globally when it laid out the agenda for G20 as people were confident that the country would bring a “proactive and positive approach to help find solutions for global issues”.
He also spoke about how different countries need to work together to deal with challenges such as inflation; damage caused by fiscally irresponsible policies; how climate change is a reality for the entire world; and others.
