And among those celebrating were also India’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led by Delhi chief minister and its national convener Arvind Kejriwal. The AAP, which rules two states in the country — Delhi and Punjab — congratulated the winners for the honour and also shared a video on social media in which both Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann, his counterpart from Punjab, were ‘dancing’ to the Telugu film song.
“CONGRATULATIONS #RRR MADE INDIA PROUD!!! #NaatuNaatu becomes the first ever Asian song to win a #GoldenGlobes #RRRMovie. Swipe,” read the caption which was shared alongside the picture and video posted by the AAP on Instagram.
The picture showed MM Keeravani, the composer of ‘Naatu Naatu’, with the Golden Globes 2023 trophy.
‘Wednesday’ star Jenna Ortega presented the award and Keeravani accepted it on behalf of the team.
Upon sliding AAP’s Instagram post, one could see Kejriwal and Mann ‘dancing’ to the song to celebrate the historic fate, but in a different way.
The edited video shared by the AAP showed Kejriwal and Mann’s facial cutouts juxtaposed with the actors’ faces.
