IN India, the hidden rivalry between the information technology hubs of Bengaluru and Hyderabad is well known. In the 2016 final of the country’s favourite Indian Premier League cricket tournament, the franchises based in these two cities met and it turned out to be a prestige battle between the tech people which Bengaluru lost narrowly.

On Sunday (24), the rivalry came to the fore again and this time, it was a actor-singer-voice artiste from Hyderabad named Anuj Gurwara who deserved to be applauded for making it an extremely funny affair.

Bengaluru is known for its pleasant weather (they say once nobody needed an air conditioner in the city) and the residents of India’s Silicon Valley often take pride in that. In a video he shot while travelling in a car which was posted on social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram, Gurwara decided to give it back to the Bengalureans over their immense pride over the city’s weather.

Gurwara was seen mocking Bengaluru’s obsession with its weather and in a hilarious manner, he poked fun at the city in Karnataka over its horrible traffic conditions. “When you are stuck at the same place in traffic jam, what else would you see apart from the weather?” he said in Hindi with a local accent.

Watch the video here which has the caption: “Mereku #Bangalore bhot pasand. Chuppi ungli karrun. Kuch bhi nakko samjho. Bura lage toh upar dekho.. Weather kitta achcha hai!” (I love Bangalore a lot. But let me poke some fun. Don’t mind and if you mind, look upwards, the weather is too good!)

The video received a wide range of response as many identified themselves with the fun that Gurwara made of Bengaluru. However, there were also those who said that the traffic condition was not much better in Hyderabad, which is located in the state of Telangana, either.
