Indian prime minister Narendra Modi on Monday (24) spent time with his country’s army personnel in Kargil located close to the Line of Control with Pakistan as part of the Diwali itinerary.
He was also seen singing along to National Song ‘Vande Mataram’ and chanting ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ as part of the Diwali celebrations.

Later, Modi shared a video of him spending time with the troops which he captioned, “A spirited Diwali in Kargil!” He also shared other posts on the social media platform capturing various moments from his visit to the army personnel.

Modi has made it a schedule to celebrate Diwali with soldiers in the forward areas in India’s border states such as Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

In 2021, the prime minister spent the festival with troops at the border outposts in Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir. The year before, he was seen celebrating Diwali with the Indian soldiers in Jaisalmer in the state of Rajasthan.
