ANIMALS crossing highways are not uncommon but when one sees traffic policemen halting traffic movement on a highway to allow a tiger to cross it, it is bound to surprise many.
Well, this is what has happened at a location in India and a video of the incident posted by Indian Forest Service officer Praveen Kaswan on social media platform Twitter went viral and people applauded the law-keepers for facilitating the striped animal’s movement.
In the video, traffic police personnel could be seen stopping commuters on their vehicles on both sides of the road. No, it was not for any VIP motorcade that they did it, something which is often seen in India. They lawkeepers did it so that a tiger, a calm one, crossed the road with all vehicles waiting patiently.

“Green signal only for tiger. These beautiful people. Unknown location,” reads the caption of Kaswan’s post.
Reactions poured in over the video with many suggesting that the location was not unknown but was in Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve in the western Indian state of Maharashtra. To that, however, another user said that the word “unknown” was told deliberately so that people didn’t crowd the area to make videos and documentaries after the tweet went viral.
India is home to the most number of tigers in the world and has 70 per cent of the animal’s population globally.
Sir it's not an unknown location. This is Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve in #Maharashtra. It lies in #Chandrapur district and is approximately 150 km from #Nagpur. RTO code of Chandrapur is MH 34. pic.twitter.com/K5VKsjRO6U

Animals don’t work that way. They kill only if they are hungry. Animals are scared of people too, with all our bikes / cars that make such noises they are not very keen to be near it. One must be really deprived of food or in agony to do something of that sort.
