Hrithik Roshan’s much-anticipated action-thriller War 2 is set to release on August 14, 2025, as confirmed by Yash Raj Films on social media. The production house reshared a post on X, stating, “Must say… you have set it up brilliantly even before we have started our marketing of #War2. There will be mayhem in cinemas on 14 August 2025, worldwide.”
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film serves as a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War, which starred Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. This time, the story continues with Hrithik reprising his role as Major Kabir Dhaliwal. The film also features Telugu superstar Jr NTR and Kiara Advani in key roles, adding to the excitement.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting updates, flooding the comments section with speculation and excitement. Many are hoping for surprise cameos by Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Salman Khan’s Tiger, further expanding Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe.
Recently, several behind-the-scenes photos and videos from War 2 went viral, showing Hrithik shooting in Italy. The film marks the sixth installment in the YRF Spy Universe after Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), War (2019), Pathaan (2023), and Tiger 3 (2023).
With Yash Raj Films also working on Pathaan 2, Tiger vs Pathaan, and Alpha, War 2 is expected to be a major cinematic event in 2025.
