MONALISA BHONSLE, the 16-year-old girl from Madhya Pradesh who gained social media fame after selling garlands at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, is set to debut as an actor.

Filmmaker Sanoj Mishra has announced that Bhonsle will play one of the female leads in his upcoming movie, “Diary of West Bengal”.

Mishra, known for films such as “Ghaznavi”, “Srinagar”, and “Shashank”, said he met Bhonsle and her family at their home, where they agreed to let her work in the film.

“I met Monalisa and her family at their home. They have agreed to let Monalisa work in my film,” he said.

Bhonsle, a resident of Maheshwar, about 100 km from Indore, became widely recognised online due to her striking amber eyes and radiant smile, which earned her the nickname “Mona Lisa.”

She was selling Rudraksha garlands at the Kumbh Mela when her images went viral. However, she also faced harassment at the event, leading her family to bring her back home for safety.

Despite never having acted before, Bhonsle is preparing for her role. “We will train Monalisa in acting through workshops. After this, film scenes will be shot with her in April,” Mishra said.
