ACTOR Varun Dhawan has announced his participation in the sequel to the 1997 film “Border”, which originally achieved significant box office success.
Dhawan will star alongside Sunny Deol in the new film, directed by Anurag Singh and produced by JP Dutta and Bhushan Kumar.
Dhawan shared the news on Instagram, recalling his childhood experience watching the original film. “I was just a kid in class four when I went to Chandan cinema and saw Border. And it made such a big impact. I still remember the sense of national pride we all felt in the hall,” Dhawan wrote.
He expressed his admiration for the armed forces and his enthusiasm for the sequel, describing it as a “special moment” in his career.
He also mentioned his excitement about working with Sunny Deol, calling him his hero. Dhawan added, “I look forward to bring a valiant jawaan’s story to screen in what promises to be India’s biggest war film. I seek your good wishes Jai Hind.”
In addition to the “Border” sequel, Dhawan will appear in Kalees’ “Baby John” in December and “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari,” in which he reunites with Janhvi Kapoor.
Sunny Deol, who returned to prominence with “Gadar 2” last year, will also be featured in Rajkumar Santoshi’s “Lahore 1947,” co-starring with Preity Zinta and produced by Aamir Khan Productions.
