Apple CEO Tim Cook celebrated Holi by sharing a captivating photograph taken by Indian entrepreneur Kushagra Tiwari. The image, shot on an iPhone, showcases the vibrant essence of the festival with a person dressed in orange and pink, holding a plate filled with colorful powders and flower petals. Cook posted the picture on X (formerly Twitter), extending warm Holi greetings to all those celebrating.
“Happy Holi to all those celebrating! May it be as joyous and fun as Kushagra Tiwari’s beautiful #ShotOniPhone photo,” Cook captioned the post. The Alt Tag on the image describes a person standing in a field, adorned with streaks of red and blue on their face, laughing joyously as flower petals rain down around them.

Cook’s post quickly garnered attention, with users responding enthusiastically. Many shared their own Holi celebrations, expressing gratitude for the acknowledgment of India’s iconic festival. “Wishing everyone a very Happy Holi! May this festival of colours fill your life with joy, prosperity, and love,” wrote one user. Another added, “India is always colorful, full of diversity and inclusiveness. Hope the rest of the world emulates that!”
This is not the first time Cook has participated in Holi celebrations. In previous years, he shared festive photographs taken by Indian photographers such as Joshua Karthik, Apeksha Maker, and Gursimran Basra, showcasing India’s rich culture and traditions.
Holi, known as the festival of colors, symbolizes the arrival of spring and the victory of good over evil. The festival unites people across different backgrounds as they splash colors, dance to traditional beats, and enjoy delicacies like ‘gujiya,’ ‘mathri,’ ‘malpuas,’ and the celebratory drink ‘thandai.’ The festival fosters unity, breaking barriers of caste, creed, and social status, as communities come together in a spirit of joy and camaraderie.
Apple has long emphasized the power of photography through its #ShotOniPhone campaign, highlighting stunning images taken by users worldwide. By featuring an Indian CEO’s work during Holi, Cook not only celebrates the festival but also recognizes the talent of Indian photographers.
As the world embraces the vibrancy of Holi, Cook’s gesture underscores the festival’s global appeal, reflecting India’s rich cultural heritage on an international platform.
