It may be mentioned here that the PCB failed to ensure that the National Bank Cricket Arena in the port city was filled for the first Test which ended in a draw after a dramatic twist in the tail on Friday (30). To bring a change, the board decided not to charge the fans for the second game so that a better turnaround is seen.
Pakistan, who lost their previous Test series against England 0-3, conceded a first-innings lead to the Kiwis under batting-friendly conditions and when it appeared that the match was heading for a dull draw, home team captain Babar Azam declared the second innings to throw a challenge to the New Zealanders to score 138 runs in 15 overs to win.
The visitors took up the challenge and were 61 for 1 in 7.3 overs when bad light forced the game to end in a draw.
New Zealand captain Kane Williamson was adjudged the player of the match for scoring an unbeaten double hundred.
