STREE 2, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao, is set for a significant opening on August 15, coinciding with Independence Day 2024.
The film has already achieved impressive advance sales figures, with ₹11.37 crore gross collected and 381,878 tickets sold for the first day. This positions Stree 2 as the clear frontrunner among the films releasing on the same day.
In contrast, Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein has sold 15,001 tickets, grossing ₹55.33 lakh in advance sales. John Abraham’s Vedaa has reported similar figures, with ₹56.57 lakh gross and 23,335 tickets sold for its opening day.
Additionally, Tamil actor Vikram’s Thangalaan, directed by Pa Ranjith, and Puri Jagannadh’s Double iSmart, featuring Ram Pothineni and Sanjay Dutt, will also release on August 15. Other films scheduled for release include the political drama Raghu Thatha, starring Keerthy Suresh, and Mr Bachchan, featuring Ravi Teja.
Stree 2 is the much-anticipated sequel to the 2018 horror-comedy Stree.
Meanwhile, Khel Khel Mein, directed by Akshay Kumar, continues his tradition of releasing patriotic and social dramas on August 15.
With a five-day weekend extending to Raksha Bandhan on August 19, Stree 2 appears to be the leading choice for audiences. (PTI)
