ABHISHEK BANERJEE, who reprises his role as Jana in “Stree 2”, shared that working on the film allowed the cast to be “ruthless” with each other.

He described how the actors had the freedom to improvise on set, often laughing at each other’s mistakes without holding back.

The camaraderie, according to Banerjee, played a crucial role in shaping the dynamics of the horror-comedy film.

Besides its mix of scares and humour, “Stree 2” features a strong on-screen bond between the cast, including Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana.

The actor revealed that while the cast enjoys pushing boundaries, they maintain a level of decorum.

Banerjee acknowledged that improvisation is key to the success of their performances, noting that, “When you are so naked in front of your co-actors, that’s when the best lines come.”

Banerjee also highlighted director Kaushik’s distinct approach. Describing Kaushik as someone who keeps the cast on their toes, Banerjee quipped, “Amar bhai is a bully from Kanpur, no matter how much he pretends to be this distinguished gentleman.”

More profitable than ‘Animal’

Directed by Amar Kaushik and written by Niren Bhatt, the film has grossed over ₹5.20 billion (£47.03 million) in 20 days after its release.

The move was made on a modest budget of ₹600 million (£5.43m), and has given big-ticket films like “Jawan”, “Animal” and June 2024’s “Kalki” 2898 AD a run for their money.

The 2023 releases “Animal” and “Jawan” posted a return on investment of 177 per cent and 113 per cent, respectively.

In comparison, Stree 2 reported a profit of Rs 460 crore, seven times its budget, yielding a return on investment of 767 per cent.
