Stepping up ties, old allies India, Russia discuss free trade deal: report

India and Russia are in the middle of a free-trade agreement (FTA), the Russian trade minister on Monday (17) said, making an announcement that could deepen bilateral commercial relations that have flourished since the Ukraine war started in February last year.

According to Reuters which reported about it, the FTA talks between the two old allies mark a step-up in economic ties between the two nations despite calls from the western nations for New Delhi to distance itself from Russia, one of its dominant weapons suppliers, gradually over the Ukraine invasion.
