FILMMAKER SS Rajamouli has hinted at the commencement of shooting for his upcoming project, tentatively titled SSMB29.
The film is said to star Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Rajamouli shared a cryptic post on social media, featuring a picture of himself holding a passport in front of a monochrome image of a lion behind bars.
He captioned the post with the word, “Captured.”
In the post, Rajamouli tagged Mahesh Babu, who recently lent his voice to the character of Mufasa in the Telugu version of Disney’s “Mufasa: The Lion King”.
Mahesh Babu responded with a comment saying, “Okkasaari commit ayithe naa maata nene vinanu…. (Once I commit, I do not even listen to myself).” Priyanka Chopra Jonas also reacted to the post, commenting, “Finally.”
SSMB29 is Priyanka’s return to Indian cinema after “The Sky is Pink” in 2019.
The project is rumored to be an adventure film, taking inspiration from classic Hollywood franchises like Indiana Jones.
Filming for the project is expected to start in April 2025, with locations in Kenya and Borra Caves in Andhra Pradesh.
