Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are actively gearing up for Spider-Man 4, with Tom Holland reprising his role as Peter Parker. With the film expected to begin shooting in June 2025, new reports suggest that an A-list actor has been approached to play the main villain.

According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios has reportedly made an offer to a well-known star for the antagonist role. While the actor’s identity remains undisclosed, fans are eager to find out who could be facing off against Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in the upcoming film. Richtman shared the update on his Patreon, adding:

“Marvel Studios has reportedly made an offer to a big actor for the main villain role in Spider-Man 4.”

Though the offer has been extended, it is unclear if the star has accepted or declined. An official announcement is expected in the coming months.

Filming for Spider-Man 4 is set to begin in June 2025 in the UK and will wrap by October 2025. The script, penned by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, is still undergoing rewrites after initial drafts were scrapped due to weak structure.

Marvel President Kevin Feige and Sony Pictures are aiming for a stronger and more impactful storyline, leading the writing team to fine-tune the plot. The original script, which featured Scorpion and Shocker, has been abandoned. The final version is expected to be completed by March 2025, with the film boasting a $200 million budget.

There have been numerous speculations regarding the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man 4. According to a report by Alex Perez via The Cosmic Circus, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are exploring another multiverse storyline, similar to the one in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).

The plan is to create a major team-up film featuring Spider-Man and Venom as the primary duo, mirroring the dynamic of Deadpool & Wolverine.

Adding to the intrigue, J.K. Simmons, who plays J. Jonah Jameson, was asked about his MCU return in an interview with Screen Rant. However, he remained tight-lipped, stating:

“No spoilers. Sorry, I’m not telling!”

Another significant change in Spider-Man 4 is Peter Parker’s romantic storyline. The sequel will introduce a new female love interest, with many speculating that Black Cat could be the one. However, official casting announcements have yet to be made.

Additionally, Zendaya’s role as MJ will be severely reduced due to scheduling conflicts with her other projects.

The film will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and produced by Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Mitch Bell.

As Spider-Man 4 gears up for production, fans eagerly await more details about its villain, supporting cast, and storyline.
