CZECH automaker Skoda on Monday (1) revealed a two-fold rise in sales in India at 3,065 units in the month of October, riding on the back of its newly launched Kushaq, a mid-sized sports utility vehicle (SUV).
In a statement, the company said Skoda Auto India sold 1,421 units in October. It added the company is still riding on the success of Kushaq, which has received 15,000 bookings so far.

The numbers have been on the rise for other models such as Superb, Octavia and Rapid as well, the company said.
According to Skoda, with the implementation of the Volkswagen group’s ‘India 2.0’ plan, which started with the introduction of Kushaq, there has been a strong emphasis on rapidly expanding network footprint across the country.
“The brand is currently available in over 100 locations and has recently launched additional dealerships in major Indian cities,” It added.
