ACTION drama “Singham Again” and horror comedy “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” were released on November 1, with both films achieving significant box office success, grossing over ₹1 billion (£9.17m) during their opening weekend.
The films were screened across more than 6,000 theatres nationwide during the Diwali weekend.
“Singham Again,” the third installment in the “Singham” franchise, features a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor.
According to trade website Sacnilk, the film collected ₹1.22 billion (£11.18m) net in India by Sunday. It is produced by Jio Studios in association with Rohit Shetty Picturez and Devgn Films and is the fifth film in Shetty’s cop universe.
Meanwhile, “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3,” directed by Anees Bazmee, has Kartik Aaryan reprising his role as Rooh Baba from 2022’s “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.”
The film also sees the return of Vidya Balan, who played Avni/Manjulika in the original 2007 film, along with new cast members Madhuri Dixit Nene and Triptii Dimri.
Aaryan announced the film’s box office performance on Instagram, stating, “ROOH BABA ON CLOUD 100. ONE OF THE FASTEST 100 CRORES in just 3 days !! Thank you Janta Janardhan for the blockbuster love !! #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 in Theatres.”
A poster shared by Aaryan reported that “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” earned ₹1.1 billion (£10.08m) net in India within its first three days. The film is produced by T-Series Films and Cine1 Studios and distributed by AA Films.
