Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani have become one of Bollywood’s most loved couples, and now, they are preparing for an exciting new chapter in their lives—parenthood. The couple, who tied the knot in 2023 after dating for over two years, are expecting their first child together.
While fans have long believed that their love story began on the sets of Shershaah (2021), Sidharth recently revealed that their first meeting actually took place in 2018 during the shoot of Lust Stories, where Kiara delivered one of her most talked-about performances.
In a candid chat with YouTuber Lilly Singh, Sidharth was asked about Kiara’s bold performance in Lust Stories, directed by Karan Johar. Lilly applauded the actress for her role, and when she assumed that Sidharth was supportive of it, he responded enthusiastically.
“Oh absolutely! So actually we, now that we’re married, that’s the reason I met her. I’m very grateful that short film was made, because I met her when they stopped… I was on set, I did go to meet Karan (Johar) at that set and we met and we met right after that,” Sidharth shared.
Lilly called it a great meeting story, to which Sidharth agreed, adding, “I know! I didn’t want to be there for that, but I knew what she was up to because I’d heard the story from Karan before.”
Reflecting on their marriage, Sidharth revealed how Kiara has been a positive influence on him over the past year. He described his wife as “family-oriented” and praised her strong values.
Talking about his admiration for Kiara, he explained, “Her ethics and morals are in the right place, which is something I respect and admire.”
During the conversation, Lilly also brought up a past interview where Sidharth had spoken about the importance of raising sons responsibly. She asked him to elaborate on his perspective on fatherhood.

Sidharth shared, “The best way in my book, though it’s a very difficult way and we’ve all spoken about it, is to definitely get your boys in check, you know, growing up. And that would be my intent whenever in life that a point would come. Be it a girl or a boy, I think values, ethics, and just being a kinder human being and a more sensitive human being.”
He then reflected on masculinity and responsibility, stating, “I was reading recently, and it says, you know, being a male is by birth but being a man is by choice.”
When asked what being a man truly means to him, Sidharth explained, “It means taking responsibility for your own actions, being more accountable, and sensitive towards what you’re saying and how you’re dealing with loved ones.”
With their baby on the way, fans are eager to see Sidharth embrace his dad era, bringing the same values and love into his journey of parenthood.
