Singer Shreya Ghoshal shares unseen images of her traditional Bengali wedding dressed in red Banarasi saree and ‘mukut’

Shreya Ghoshal, one of India’s most celebrated playback singers, recently marked a significant milestone as she celebrated her 10th wedding anniversary with her husband, Shiladitya Mukhopadhyaya. To commemorate the occasion, she shared a series of unseen pictures from their wedding, reminiscing about the special day and expressing gratitude for their decade-long journey together.

A name synonymous with soulful melodies, Shreya Ghoshal has been a dominant force in the Indian music industry for over two decades. From her Bollywood debut in Devdas (2002) to winning multiple National Film Awards, Filmfare Awards, and international accolades, she has mesmeriased audiences with her versatile singing. With chart-topping hits across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, and several other languages, Shreya has firmly established herself as one of the finest playback singers of her generation.

Shreya Ghoshal and Shiladitya Mukhopadhyaya’s love story is nothing short of a fairytale. The two have been friends since their college days, and their bond only grew stronger over the years. On February 5, 2015, they tied the knot in an intimate Bengali wedding ceremony, keeping the celebrations private yet deeply rooted in tradition.

Taking to Instagram on their 10th anniversary, Shreya shared pictures where she looked radiant in her traditional Bengali bridal attire, featuring a stunning red Banarasi saree, gold jewelry, and the signature mukut (headgear) worn by Bengali brides. In a heartfelt post, she wrote about how she still remembers the day vividly and how their love continues to evolve. She also mentioned their son, Devyaan, calling him the biggest blessing in their lives. The post instantly went viral, with fans and celebrities showering the couple with congratulatory messages.

A Bengali wedding is an elaborate and culturally rich affair, filled with unique customs and rituals. Shreya and Shiladitya’s wedding followed traditional Bengali customs, including the Gaye Holud (haldi ceremony), Saat Paak (the bride is carried around the groom in a ritualistic circle), and the Sindoor Daan (applying vermilion on the bride’s forehead). These rituals highlight the deep-rooted traditions and the significance of marriage in Bengali culture.

Apart from celebrating her anniversary, Shreya recently enjoyed a night out at the Coldplay concert, sharing glimpses of the experience with her fans. She posted several photos and videos from the event, where she was seen enjoying popular tracks like A Sky Full of Stars, Fix You, and Paradise. Composer Salim Merchant also made an appearance in one of the clips, adding to the excitement.

In a lighthearted moment before the concert, Shreya was seen joking with her husband, saying, “It’s a lot of work to come to a concert. It’s better to just be on the stage.” Dressed casually in a blue and white top with black trousers, she looked effortlessly stylish as she soaked in the musical experience.
