Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko is currently absconding after a dramatic escape from a police raid at a Kochi hotel late on Wednesday (16). In a shocking CCTV footage, Shine can be seen jumping from the third floor to the second, alongside two companions, before leaping into a swimming pool and eventually fleeing through the hotel reception.
The District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force (DANSAF) of Kerala Police conducted the midnight raid, but no illegal substances were found in the actor’s hotel room. Despite this, Shine’s sudden disappearance has raised eyebrows, especially considering his prior arrest for drug possession in February 2025.

The incident has gained more attention following recent statements by actress Vincy Aloshious, who openly declared she would not work with actors using drugs on set. She filed a formal complaint with the Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce and the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (A.M.M.A) about being mistreated by a drug-influenced co-actor during a shoot.
While Vincy hasn’t named anyone publicly, A.M.M.A officials have reportedly confirmed that the actor she referred to is Shine Tom Chacko, her co-star in the upcoming film Soothravakyam.
Shine’s mother, Maria, defended her son, saying, “Did they find anything in his room? I know him well. He might have been frightened. The police were not in uniform.”
As the Kerala police continue their search for Shine, the controversy intensifies, further fuelling the debate over drug use in the Malayalam film industry.
