BOLLYWOOD icon Shah Rukh Khan has shared that he has quit smoking, marking a significant personal change.
Speaking to fans gathered in Mumbai for his 59th birthday celebration, he stated, “There’s a good thing – I’m not smoking anymore, guys. I thought I won’t feel so breathless after quitting smoking, but I still feel it (the side-effects). Inshallah, that will also get ok.”
The actor, known for his past struggles with smoking, faced public backlash in 2012 when he was fined for smoking during an IPL cricket match.
Later, in 2017, he disclosed his intentions to quit smoking and drinking to set an example for his children.
At the birthday event, Khan also committed to continue making films, promising at least another 10 years of work for his fans. “I want to make special films for the next 10 years. I really want to entertain all of you happily,” he said.
Khan’s next film, titled “King” and directed by Sujoy Ghosh, will also star his daughter Suhana.
