Shah Rukh Khan, the celebrated Bollywood superstar, might soon add another milestone to his illustrious career by collaborating with South Indian director Sukumar, the mastermind behind the successful Pushpa franchise.

The two are reportedly in talks for a rural political action drama, although fans might have to wait a few years before the project comes to fruition due to the busy schedules of both Khan and Sukumar.

Initially, rumors suggested that Khan and Sukumar would join forces for a dark and intense psychological thriller. However, the latest buzz points toward a different direction. Sources close to the project have revealed that Khan will portray an anti-hero in a raw, rustic, and desi avatar.

The film will blend his mass appeal with his status as a global superstar. Not only will it delve into the world of political action, but it will also explore significant social issues, such as caste and class oppression.

“King Khan will play an anti-hero, but this will be a rural political action drama that promises to show him in a raw, rustic, and desi avatar that blends his mass appeal with his global superstar image. It will also explore social issues like caste and class oppression,” a source told revealed.

However, fans eagerly awaiting the film’s release may need to exercise patience. Both Khan and Sukumar are currently tied up with other significant projects. Sukumar is already committed to multiple ventures, including RC 17 with Ram Charan, Pushpa 3: The Rampage, and another romantic drama with Ram Charan. Similarly, Khan has a packed calendar, with upcoming films such as King and Pathaan 2 in the pipeline.

Reportedly, Khan has told filmmakers who are eager to collaborate with him that they will have to wait for at least two years before he can take on new projects. “SRK has reportedly told filmmakers eager to work with him that they’ll have to wait for two years before he can consider their projects. King kicks off in May in a start-to-finish schedule,” a source shared.

In the meantime, another exciting rumor swirling around Bollywood suggests that Atlee, the director of Pathaan (2023), is eager to team up with Salman Khan for his next project. While some reports claim that Allu Arjun could replace Khan in the film, Atlee is reportedly keen on having Khan play a parallel lead in the mass action entertainer, with Arjun taking on the anti-hero role.

Although these projects are still in their early stages, Shah Rukh Khan’s potential collaboration with Sukumar is already generating buzz among fans who are eager to see the iconic actor in a gritty, rural political drama.

With a mix of social issues, mass appeal, and political action, this film promises to be one of the most awaited projects of the coming years, as it brings together two powerhouse names in Indian cinema.
