Three passengers availed medical assistance after the flight safely landed in Sydney, an Air India spokesperson said in a statement.

At least seven passengers on board a Delhi-Sydney flight operated by Air India suffered minor injuries due to mid-air turbulence. The incident on flight AI 302 happened on Tuesday (16), India Today reported.
According to sources at India’s civil aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation, the passengers complained of minor sprain after the aircraft, a Boeing 787-800, faced the turbulence.

The flight’s cabin crew came gave first aid of the injured and they were assisted by a doctor and nurse who were travelling on board, the report added.
Air India’s airport manager arranged for medical assistance after the flight landed in Sydney early on Wednesday (17) and three passengers availed them. No hospitalisation was required, the India Today report said citing sources.

It cited a statement from an Air India spokesperson that said, “Air India’s flight AI 302 of May 16, 2023, operating from Delhi to Sydney encountered turbulence mid-air leading to discomfort to the passengers on board. The flight landed safely in Sydney and three passengers availed medical assistance on arrival, none of whom required hospitalisation. This onboard incident has been reported to the relevant authorities as a standard practice.”
