A resurfaced interview of Samantha Ruth Prabhu has taken the internet by storm, where the actress openly stated that she didn’t find Hrithik Roshan’s looks very appealing, even rating her ex-husband Naga Chaitanya higher.
The old clip, now circulating on social media platforms including Reddit, is from an interview with Sakshi TV, in which Samantha was asked to rate actors based on their looks.
Despite Hrithik Roshan often being hailed as the ‘Greek God’ of Bollywood for his chiseled features and global appeal, Samantha had a very different take. She candidly admitted, “Everyone will kill me, but I don’t like Hrithik’s looks too much,” before rating him 7 out of 10. In contrast, she gave Mahesh Babu a glowing 10/10 and didn’t hesitate to give Naga Chaitanya, her then-husband, a perfect score as well.

Samantha’s rankings continued with Ranbir Kapoor receiving an 8/10. When the interviewer asked about Shahid Kapoor, she said, “Shahid before Kaminey – 5/10, after Kaminey – 9/10,” acknowledging the drastic transformation in his screen persona post the 2009 film.
The interview is gaining renewed attention not just because of the surprise opinion on Hrithik Roshan, but also due to Samantha’s past relationship with Naga Chaitanya. The two met on the sets of Ye Maaya Chesave in 2010, and sparks flew a few years later while filming Autonagar Surya. They tied the knot in 2017 in a dreamy destination wedding, only to announce their separation in 2021. The divorce was finalized in 2023, as confirmed by Chaitanya in an interview.
While fans may be divided on her views about Hrithik’s looks, there’s no denying that both Samantha and Hrithik are currently at significant points in their careers. Samantha is busy shooting for Rakht Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom, a fantasy action series helmed by Raj & DK. Promising high-octane drama and striking visuals, the series is building anticipation among fans. She will also return in The Family Man Season 3, reprising her much-loved role alongside Manoj Bajpayee, Jaideep Ahlawat, Priyamani, and Sharib Hashmi. The show is expected to drop in November 2025.
On the other hand, Hrithik Roshan is gearing up for one of the most anticipated films of the year, War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji. The film will feature Jr NTR in a powerful antagonist role, marking his Bollywood debut, with Kiara Advani also playing a key character. War 2 is scheduled for release on August 14, 2025. Additionally, Hrithik is preparing to don the director’s hat for Krrish 4, the next chapter in his iconic superhero franchise.
While opinions on celebrity appearances are subjective, Samantha’s honest take has once again stirred buzz among fans, reminding everyone of how real, spontaneous moments can resurface and spark fresh conversations years later.
