Bollywood’s suave and stylish star, Saif Ali Khan, is back in action with his latest venture Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins, and this time, he’s stepping into the world of high-stakes crime and thrilling escapades. The film, which is set to premiere on Netflix on April 25, 2025, sees Saif playing a charming and rebellious thief named Rehan Roy — a role he calls “addictive and irresistible.”
Speaking about his experience, Saif shared how captivated he was by the complexity and charisma of his character. “Playing a thief in a heist movie is very interesting because he is someone who challenges the system, bending the rules. It’s kind of fascinating to watch, read through, and portray,” he said.
Rehan Roy is not your typical thief. According to Saif, he’s a man with a plan — organized, stylish, and full of swagger. “He is a thief with organization, with swag, an adventurer at heart, and a family man,” he described. The blend of rebellion, heart, and flair makes Rehan a classic Bollywood anti-hero who is both dangerous and endearing.
“It’s the kind of role that lets you live in an alternate universe,” Saif explained, adding that the film’s world is filled with mafia dons, red diamonds, high-octane museum robberies, whiskey glasses flying across the room, and people being kicked out of windows. “It is addictive because you’re living in an alternate universe full of energy. It’s action-packed yet fantastical,” he said with enthusiasm.
The actor also noted how filming for Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins was such a thrill that he found it hard to let go. “Filming was so fun that when I got home, I was itching to come back. I knew it would be weird when it’s over. I think actors talk about how to get a film out of your system — I feel like this one will take time because I had an absolute blast shooting it.”
The movie is directed by Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal and features a powerful ensemble cast including Jaideep Ahlawat, Nikita Dutta, and Kunal Kapoor. The stylish thriller promises a visually rich, fast-paced, and exciting ride through a neon-lit universe that almost feels like a comic book in motion.
Saif added, “Rehan is the quintessential Hindi film hero in that sense — breaks rules, cons people but is kind at heart. You see the bigger picture, and that’s what makes him so attractive to watch and irresistible to portray.”
With Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins, Saif Ali Khan is set to steal not just diamonds, but also hearts — once again proving why he remains one of Bollywood’s most versatile and charismatic stars.
