Saif Ali Khan has made headlines again—this time for a more peaceful reason. Just three months after surviving a shocking knife attack at his Mumbai residence, the acclaimed actor has revealed that he purchased a luxurious second home in Qatar. Located at The St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island in The Pearl, Doha, this new property marks a fresh and serene chapter in the actor’s life.

Saif, 53, opened up about his decision to invest in Qatar during a press event hosted by Alfardan Group. Describing the location as “very safe” and “visually stunning,” Saif emphasized that the safety, food, and pace of living were key factors that drew him to the destination.

“Think of a holiday home or a second home,” Saif said. “There are a few things I think of—how accessible it is, how safe it feels, and the experience you have there. The concept of an island within an island is luxurious and peaceful. It just feels really good to be there.”

The actor, who recently recovered from a serious injury caused during a robbery attempt at his Bandra residence in January 2025, said the peace and seclusion offered by the Doha property felt like exactly what he needed. “I stayed there while working on a project and instantly connected with the place. There was something about the privacy and curated luxury that really appealed to me,” Saif added. “The food, the views, and the lifestyle—it all just clicked. It truly felt like a home away from home.”

Saif’s choice is also motivated by his family. He is excited to take his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and sons Taimur and Jehangir to the new retreat. “It’s a peaceful getaway and a place where I can spend quality time with my family,” he shared.

Despite the harrowing incident earlier this year—where an intruder named Shehzad allegedly broke into Saif’s Mumbai home and stabbed him during an attempted robbery—the actor remains resilient. He was hospitalized for five days at Lilavati Hospital with thoracic spine injuries and was discharged on January 21.

The Qatar property joins Saif’s impressive portfolio of homes around the world. In addition to his Bandra apartment and ancestral Pataudi Palace, Saif owns properties in London and Gstaad, Switzerland.

On the work front, Saif is gearing up for the release of Netflix’s highly anticipated thriller Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins, which starts streaming on April 25. Directed by Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal, the film also stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Kunal Kapoor, and Nikita Dutta. The action-packed movie follows Saif as a suave thief plotting a high-stakes diamond heist with his partner, while a sharp detective is hot on their trail.
