Royal Enfield sales surge 25 per cent in December

The Chennai-headquartered motorcycle maker sold 79,466 units in December 2024, compared with 63,387 units in the same period a year ago

MOTORCYCLE maker Royal Enfield on Thursday reported a 25 per cent rise in total sales at 79,466 units in December 2024, compared with 63,387 units sold in the same month a year ago.

Domestic sales were at 67,891 units, as against 57,291 units in December 2023, up 19 per cent, Royal Enfield said in a statement.

Similarly, exports jumped 90 per cent at 11,575 units last month, as compared to 6,096 units in December 2023.

“As we gear up for 2025, we are looking forward to sustaining our growth momentum and continue inspiring our riding community across the globe with ‘Pure Motorcycling’ initiatives across the board,” Royal Enfield CEO, B Govindarajan said.

TVS sales rise 7 per cent

TVS Motor Company on Thursday reported a 7 per cent increase in total sales at 3,21,687 units in December as compared to 3,01,898 units in the same month a year ago.

Total two-wheeler sales were up 8 per cent at 3,12,002 units last month as against 2,90,064 units in December 2023, the company said in a statement.

Domestic two-wheeler sales were up marginally at 2,15,075 units in December 2024, from 2,14,988 units in the year-ago month.

The company said its electric vehicle sales rose 79 per cent last month at 20,171 units as compared to 11,288 units in December 2023.

Three-wheeler sales were lower at 9,685 units last month as against 11,834 units in December 2023.

Exports registered a 22 per cent increase at 1,04,393 units last month, from 85,391 units in December 2023, the company said.

Bajaj Auto sales decline

Bajaj Auto has reported a 1 per cent decline in total sales at 3,23,125 units in December 2024 compared with the same month a year ago.

Bajaj Auto said in a regulatory filing that the company had sold a total of 3,26,806 units in December 2023.

Total two-wheeler sales were at 2,72,173 units last month against 2,83,001 units in the year-ago period, down 4 per cent, it added.

Domestic two-wheeler sales stood at 1,28,335 units compared to 1,58,370 units in the corresponding month a year ago, a decline of 19 per cent, the company said.

Exports of two-wheelers were higher at 1,43,838 units last month over 1,24,631 units in December 2023, up 15 per cent.

Total commercial vehicle sales were higher by 16 per cent at 50,952 units in December 2024 from 43,805 units a year ago, the company said. (PTI)
