Indian prime minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (14) paid tributes to the 40 personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) who were martyred in a deadly terror attack in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir four years ago.
In a tweet, Modi said, “Remembering our valorous heroes who we lost on this day in Pulwama. We will never forget their supreme sacrifice. Their courage motivates us to build a strong and developed India”, the prime minister tweeted.

On February 14, 2019, the personnel lost their lives after a suicide bomber rammed a car laden with explosives into a convoy of security forces. The perpetrator was also killed.
Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed of Masood Azhar later claimed responsibility for the ghastly attack.
India avenged the attack by conducting an airstrike in Balakot, Pakistan, in which many terror training camps run by Jaish were reportedly destroyed. Although the exact number of terrorists neutralised in the air attack was not known, reports said that more than 300 religious radicals were seen at those camps a day before the strike took place.
