The wait is finally over for fans of the cult-favorite web series Panchayat, as Prime Video has officially announced the Panchayat Season 4 release date, sending fans into a frenzy. In a creatively designed promotional video shared on April 3, 2025, the OTT platform celebrated five successful years of the comedy-drama series that follows the life of Abhishek Tripathi, played by Jitendra Kumar, and his experiences in the fictional village of Phulera.
In an exciting twist, the announcement video roped in popular social media influencers like Bhupendra Jogi and Darshan Magdum, alongside television actress Gia Manek, best known for her role as Gopi Bahu in Saath Nibhana Saathiya. The video served up both laughs and nostalgia, keeping true to the quirky essence that Panchayat fans have come to adore.
Gia Manek was seen in the video washing books and hilariously accusing the makers of Panchayat of “taking credit for all the memes on social media.” She also poked fun at one of the show’s most quoted lines, sarcastically saying, “It’s just a sentence,” in reference to the popular meme, “Ek-ek chai hojaaye (Shall we have tea together?).”
Jitendra Kumar, seamlessly switching between his beloved roles of Abhishek from Panchayat and Jeetu Bhaiya from Kota Factory, offered a witty take on the internet culture. He remarked, “Internet wants a meme that goes viral all over the world. Don’t run after being viral, create a moment.” Later, referring to the show’s journey, he added, “Panchayat has turned five now; where do you see yourself in five years?” The video ended with a tease from Gia, who quipped, “If it’s coming this year, then can we drink green tea while sitting on a tank?”, before Jitendra made a playful exit.
The grand reveal followed: Panchayat Season 4 is set to premiere on July 2, 2025. Naturally, fans couldn’t keep calm. Social media exploded with excitement. One comment read, “Is universe ko kya naam du?” while another added, “Prime is doing the real multiverse of madness.” A particularly cheeky fan joked, “We got this collab before GTA 6!”
For those new to the series, Panchayat is a slice-of-life comedy-drama that captures the humorous and emotional journey of Abhishek, an engineering graduate who ends up working as a panchayat secretary in a remote Uttar Pradesh village due to a lack of urban job opportunities. The series balances humor with heart, as it portrays rural life, politics, and friendships with remarkable authenticity.
Produced by The Viral Fever (TVF), and created by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Chandan Kumar, the new season is written by Chandan Kumar and directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Akshat Vijaywargiya. The returning Panchayat cast includes Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, Sanvikaa, Durgesh Kumar, Sunita Rajwar, and Pankaj Jha.
With its confirmed return, Panchayat Season 4 is all set to bring back the charm, wit, and warmth of Phulera once again. Fans can mark their calendars for July 2 and prepare to dive into another round of relatable rural chaos and heartfelt moments on Prime Video.
