One Indian company finds place in TIME world’s 100 best firms and it is…

Seven other Indian companies were in the list of 750 ranked but none of them were in the top 100.

INDIAN information-technology (IT) major Infosys is the only company from the country to have found a place in the list of the world’s top 100 firms released by TIME magazine and German online data platform Statista.

The World’s Best Companies of 2023 list was topped by Microsoft, Apple, Alphabet, which owns Google, and Meta Platforms (formerly Facebook) while Infosys was at the 64th position with an overall score of 88.38 out of 100.

In terms of sustainability, Infosys, which has among its co-founders Narayana Murthy, the father-in-law of prime minister Rishi Sunak, was ranked 135th while it was at 103rd place in terms of employee satisfaction.

Infosys was among the top three professional services companies globally.

TIME and Statista named 750 firms changing the world in a new statistical ranking, underscoring the world economic order.

The rankings were based on a formula of revenue growth, employee satisfaction and environmental, social and corporate governance data.

“Microsoft, Apple, Alphabet (the company that owns Google) and Meta Platforms (formerly Facebook) were the top four companies in a new statistical ranking of 750 of the world’s best companies by Statista and TIME, which are based on a formula of revenue growth, employee satisfaction surveys, and rigorous environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG, or sustainability) data,” Time Magazine said in a release.

Seven other Indian companies also featured in the list of 750 and among them were tech major Wipro at 174; Mahindra Group at 210; Reliance Industries at 248; HCL Technologies at 262; HDFC Bank at 418, WNS Global Services at 596 and ITC at 672.
