Less than a week after the man, accused of urinating on an elderly woman in a New York-Delhi flight in November, was arrested from Bengaluru, another similar incident has been reported from the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in New Delhi.
In the latest incident, a passenger has been arrested for allegedly relieving himself in public at Terminal 3 of the airport.
He was later released on bail.
The accused in the incident, which happened on Sunday (8), was identified as Jauhar Ali Khan from the eastern Indian state of Bihar, and he was arrested by Delhi Police for exposing himself before other passengers and urinating at the departure gate, ANI reported.
He was scheduled to depart on a flight to Dammam in Saudi Arabia.
According to the police, the passenger, who seemed to be drunk, also misbehaved with other passengers around him.
The police registered a case under sections 294 and 510 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the IGI Airport police station based on a complaint from the Central Industrial Security Force.
He was later released on a bail bond.
The incident happened amid the outrage over the mid-air peeing incident in an Air India flight which saw the carrier facing flak from different quarters for its handling of the matter. Even a top official of Tata Group, which owns the carrier, expressed disappointment over how Air India dealt with the matter.
