Two arrested after Hindu shopkeeper hacked to death in Udaipur, Rajasthan: In a gruesome incident, two men hacked a Hindu shopkeeper to death in broad daylight in a busy market place in the city of Udaipur in the norther-western Indian state of Rajasthan over his social media posts backing Nupur Sharma, a suspended member of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party who recently courted controversy with remarks on Prophet Muhammad.

Eknath Shinde claims support of 50 rebel Shiv Sena lawmakers: Rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde, who is currently camping in a luxury hotel in Guwahati in the north-eastern state of Assam, on Tuesday claimed that he has the support of 50 lawmakers and will soon return to Mumbai.

PM Modi visits UAE on way back from G7 summit: Indian prime minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday arrived in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, on a special visit to pay personal condolences on the passing away of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, former president of the Gulf nation and Abu Dhabi ruler. Upon his arrival, Modi was received by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the current president of the UAE.

Four dead in Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) helicopter accident: Four people died after a helicopter carrying seven passengers and two pilots today fell into the Arabian Sea while trying to land at the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) Sagar Kiran rig at Mumbai High. All nine people on board were pulled out after successful rescue operations but four were reported to be dead.

Arrested Alt News co-founder remanded to four-day police custody: A Delhi Court on Tuesday remanded Mohammed Zubair, co-founder of fact-checking website Alt News, to four days of police custody. He was arrested by the Delhi Police on Monday.
