Netflix to release Shabana Azmi-starrer ‘Dabba Cartel’ on February 28

The show, directed by Hitesh Bhatia, follows five middle-class women who unintentionally enter the world of drug trafficking through their dabba service

NETFLIX has teamed up with Excel Entertainment for its upcoming series “Dabba Cartel”, set to debut on February 28.

The show, directed by Hitesh Bhatia, follows five middle-class women who unintentionally enter the world of drug trafficking through their dabba service.

“This is a story that follows five women from diverse backgrounds who transform a simple idea into a game-changing enterprise,” said Monika Shergill, Vice-President Content, Netflix India. She described it as “a fresh and gripping blend of drama and suspense.”

Dabba Cartel stars Shabana Azmi, Nimisha Sajayan, Shalini Pandey, Anjali Anand, and Jyotika. Supporting cast members include Gajraj Rao, Sai Tamhankar, Jisshu Sengupta, Lillete Dubey, and Bhupendra Singh Jadawat.

Created by Shibani Akhtar, Vishnu Menon, Gaurav Kapur, and Akanksha Seda, the series is set in Thane. It is written by Vishnu Menon and Bhavna Kher.

Producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar stated, “‘Dabba Cartel’ marks an exciting new chapter for us as we collaborate with Netflix.

“This series is a dramatic tale of five everyday middle-class women reluctantly starting a drug cartel that ends up colliding with a massive pharma scandal that is under investigation.”
