VETERAN Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna and Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela are facing criticism over the music video for their song “Dabidi Dibidi” from the upcoming film “Daaku Maharaaj”.
The video, which was released ahead of the film’s scheduled theatre release, has drawn backlash for its suggestive and vulgar dance moves.
In the video, Balakrishna, 64, and Urvashi, 30, engage in a series of dance moves that many viewers find objectionable.
Urvashi, dressed in a crop top and skirt, is seen interacting with Balakrishna in an intimate manner, which includes Balakrishna hitting Urvashi’s belly button and playfully slapping her rear. The choreography, led by Shekhar Master, has been criticised for its suggestiveness.
Several viewers also pointed out the stark age difference between the two actors, with many feeling that the on-screen chemistry between them was unconvincing.
Some users even called for the removal of the song, saying it does not match Balakrishna’s stature as a veteran actor.
“Daaku Maharaaj”, directed by Bobby Kolli, features Balakrishna as a Robin Hood-like dacoit.
The film’s cast includes Bollywood actor Bobby Deol as the antagonist, along with Pragya Jaiswal and Shraddha Srinath in supporting roles.
The music for the film is composed by Thaman S. The movie is set to release on January 12, coinciding with the Sankranti festival.
