PRIME minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (25) addressed the nation through his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’ (inner thoughts) in which he spoke on a number of issues, ranging from the coronavirus pandemic to India’s campaign at the ongoing Olympic Games in Tokyo to the upcoming Kargil Vijay Divas and the country’s 75th Independence Day on August 15.
Modi said in the radio programme that the pandemic is not over yet and urged the countrymen to follow all protocols related to the disease during the festival season which will start in some time.
He also urged people to read the story of the Kargil War of 1999 ahead of the Kargil Vijay Divas on Monday (26) and asked them to salute the bravehearts of the war that India won over Pakistan.
The leader also said every Indian should feel proud watching the Indian contingent in full glory at the Tokyo Games and requested them to cheer for the Indian athletes. He also said that this year’s Independence Day is special since it is the 75th.
The prime minister said he is unable to take up all the inputs that he receives on his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ show but forwards many of them to concerned government departments.
