INDIAN prime minister Narendra Modi on Monday (1) met Charles, the Prince of Wales, on the sidelines of the 26th Conference to Parties (COP26), a crucial summit on climate change, in Glasgow, Scotland.
He later spoke about the meeting saying it was a delightful interaction and praised the “many efforts” that Prince Charles, heir to the throne of the British Monarchy, towards sustainable development. He also shared images of Charles greeting him with folded hands.

On Sunday (31), the day COP26 formally kicked off, Charles said the summit is the “last chance saloon” to save the planet and contain a global rise in temperature at 1.5 degree Celsius, as per a statement released by Clarence House. The Prince of Wales, who is a committed green campaigner, was addressing a press meet organised by Italian prime minister Mario Draghi just ahead of the Glasgow summit.

“COP26 begins in Glasgow tomorrow. Quite literally, it is the last chance saloon. We must now translate fine words into still finer actions,” Prince Charles said at the G20 Summit in Rome that preceded COP26.
