INDIA’S National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday (1) conducted extensive raids at 31 locations in the northern states of Punjab and Haryana to uncover the complete conspiracy behind the attack on the country’s high commission in London on March 19.

The NIA aimed to apprehend the attackers and assailants responsible for the assault.

The massive searches took place in several districts of Punjab, including Moga, Barnala, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Tarn Taran, Ludhiana, Gurdaspur, SBS Nagar, Amritsar, Mukhtsar, Sangrur, Patiala and Mohali, as well as in Sirsa, Haryana.

During the raids, digital data containing crucial information about the accused involved in the London attack and other incriminating documents were seized.

The NIA is resolute in its determination to trace the entire network behind the London attack and to apprehend the culprits, their associates, and supporters — both within India and abroad.

The agency is leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to ensure the security of Indian interests overseas and prevent any recurrence of such security breaches or disrespect to the Indian National Flag.

The March attack on the Indian mission in London involved around 50 individuals who committed criminal trespass, damaged public property, disrespected the Indian Tricolour, and caused injuries to officials of the high commission. The NIA investigations have identified Gurcharan Singh, Dal Khalsa, UK; Avtar Singh Khanda of the Khalsa Liberation Front; and several other Indian and foreign nationals as the organisers of the attack.

In May, an NIA investigation team visited the UK to probe the incident, and crowdsourcing of information was carried out to identify UK-based entities and individuals involved in the attack. Based on the information, the NIA has successfully identified many of the attackers.
