THE INFAMOUS attack on a Malayalam actor in 2017 has taken a new twist with the main accused coming up with more damaging revelations against Malayalam superstar Dileep.
The main accused, N.S. Sunil, aka Pulsar Suni, has told a Malayalam TV channel Reporter, that the attack happened with Dileep’s knowledge and gave the ‘quotation’ of ₹15 million (£133,499) as remuneration.
He clarified that he is yet to get ₹8 million (£71,199.58) from the actor, who is also an accused in the case.
He also told the TV channel that this was not the first incident and that many women actors in the Malayalam film industry were attacked earlier.
Many of these cases were later settled, he added.
The actor was kidnapped in February 2017 while returning home after a film shoot in Kochi, and was subjected to sexual assault by a gang of men.
The incident snowballed into a major controversy when the police found that Suni had links to Dileep.
Suni got bail last September and this February had another brush with the law.
He was taken into custody by the police for creating a ruckus at a hotel in Ernakulam.
He reportedly threatened the staff and broke the glass top of a table over an alleged delay in serving food.
