CHAOTIC scenes were witnessed at a court in Delhi on Thursday (9) morning when a low-intensity blast took place, leaving those in the vicinity shocked.
One person was reportedly injured in the explosion which happened in the district court in Rohini in north-west Delhi, official sources said, adding that police officers recovered explosive material from the spot.

“An incident of minor low-intensity explosion in a laptop bag has occurred at Rohini court complex at around 10:30 am. The spot has been cordoned. Forensic and NSG (National Security Guard) teams are inspecting and examining it,” a statement read, India’s NDTV reported.
An investigation was launched into the explosion and a crude bomb was believed to have been used. Visuals captured the blast’s impact that created a hole in the floor. Police officers were seen surveying the damage.
“The suspicious explosion at the Rohini Court today happened in a laptop bag, while a court proceeding was underway. One injured person has been admitted to a hospital,” Pranav Tayal, a police officer, said was quoted as saying by news agency Asian News International.
The incident happened months after three gangsters were killed in a dramatic shootout incident that left the nation shocked. Jitender Gogi, a gangster who was involved in more than 30 criminal cases and in Tihar Jail since last year, was among the killed. The assassins, who were also killed during the firing that followed the murder, entered the court in lawyers’ dresses and shot Gogi thrice.
