LEGENDARY Indian singer Lata Mangeshkar, who was admitted in the intensive care unit of Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai in the western state of Maharashtra earlier this month, is reportedly stable, her spokesperson on Wednesday (19) said.
The 92-year-old singer, who has sung several thousand of songs over the decades and is called the ‘Nightingale of India’, tested positive for Covid-19 with mild symptoms and was admitted in hospital on January 9.
“Lata Di (elder sister Lata) is stable. Will come home after the doctors give the nod,” Anusha Srinivsan Iyer, the singer’s spokesperson, said in a statement.
Two days ago, Mangeshkar’s condition was reportedly said to be deteriorating and the spokesperson had then dubbed the news as false.
“It is disturbing to see false news being circulated. Please note that Lata didi is stable. Continues to be in ICU under treatment of able doctors. Please pray for her quick return home,” Iyer said.
