Actor Jerome Flynn, widely recognized for his role as Bronn in Game of Thrones, is all set to make his Mollywood debut in L2: Empuraan, the much-awaited sequel to the blockbuster Lucifer. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film stars Mohanlal in the lead role and is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 27.
A first-look poster featuring Jerome Flynn was recently shared on social media, introducing his character, Boris Oliver. Prithviraj Sukumaran unveiled the poster with the caption, “Character No. 07 Jerome Flynn as Boris Oliver in #L2E #Empuraan.“ Fans were also treated to a video of Flynn discussing his experience working on the film.
In the video, the Black Mirror star expressed his excitement about joining the project and spoke about how unique the experience was. He said, “I play the part of Boris in Empuraan or L2:E. I can’t quite remember how I got roped into this job, but I’m so glad I did because it was a completely different experience from what I’m used to having over in the UK or the US. To be part of the Mollywood culture and to get a taste of that was really special.”
Flynn also shared his deep connection with India, revealing that he spent several years in the country attending spiritual retreats. “India has been an important and precious part of my journey. I spent several years coming here in my late 20s and early 30s, mostly on spiritual retreats. The whole experience of being in India changed my life forever in the best possible way. So, doing this job felt rather like coming home.”
Despite not filming in India, Flynn mentioned that the atmosphere on set reminded him of his time in the country. “Even though we never went to India, the vibe on the set felt just like being back in the middle of a Delhi roundabout. There was this beautiful orchestrated chaos, and everyone was so sweet and passionate about their work. It made this one of the most enjoyable jobs I’ve ever done.”
Without revealing too much, Flynn hinted at the importance of his role in the storyline. “I can’t give away too much about my character except to say that he plays an important role in Khuresh’s journey. I really hope you guys enjoy my character and the film as much as I enjoyed making it.”
Jerome Flynn is known for his work in several Hollywood films and TV series, including Soldier Soldier, Ripper Street, Loving Vincent, and The Change. His addition to L2: Empuraan has added to the excitement surrounding the film.
Alongside Mohanlal and Jerome Flynn, the movie features an ensemble cast, including Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Saniya Iyappan, Saikumar, and Sachin Khedekar. With its star-studded lineup and high expectations, L2: Empuraan is poised to be one of the biggest releases of the year.
