Kia India on Thursday (1) reported a 69 per cent rise in its total sales in November at 24,205 units.
In the same month in 2021, the South Korean automobile manufacturer had sold 14,214 units, it said in a statement.
Kia’s flagship sport utility vehicle (SUV) Seltos led the sales chart last month with 9,284 units, followed by Sonet (7,834), Carens (6,360), and Carnival (419), respectively, the statement added.
The company said it also delivered 128 units of the EV6 vehicle in the domestic market, taking its total deliveries to 296.
The automobile major has been successful in posting decent sales figures throughout this year due to improved customer sentiment and pent-up demand, Kia India vice president and head of sales & marketing Hardeep Singh Brar said.
The start of the third shift at the company’s Anantapur plant in the state of Andhra Pradesh earlier this year and the gradual improvement of the supply chain has also helped streamline the delivery period and meet the customers’ expectations, he added.
“However, we will remain observant of dynamic market conditions,” Brar said.
