A TERRORIST of the Hizbul Mujahideen extremist group has been arrested in the Indian city of Bengaluru, capital of the southern state of Karnataka, in connection with the targeted killing of Hindus in Kashmir Valley.
Basavaraj Bommai, the chief minister of Karnataka, was quoted as saying by India Today, “It’s an ongoing process. Police will keep an eye on the movement of people. Our police have extended help. The arrest had happened earlier in Bhatkal also. Now the Jammu and Kashmir Police have made arrests in Bangalore. We have extended help.” The state authorities were put on high alert after the arrest.
An alleged #HizbulMujahideen commander, Talib Hussain S/o Late Noor Mohd Gujjar has been arrested in #Bengaluru last week.
He had fled #Kashmir before moving to BLR.

Top sources in Kashmir Police told the publication, “Two terrorists were involved in Rahul Bhat’s murder – one has been neutralised, one remains and we’re after him. In Amreen Bhat’s murder case, two terrorists were identified and neutralised. In Vijay Kumar’s murder case, terrorists have been identified and they’ll soon be arrested or neutralised.”
Hindus are being targeted relentlessly in the Valley of late. On June 2, Vijay Kumar, a bank manager from the western state of Rajasthan, was shot dead in Kulgam in Jammu and Kashmir. He was shot right outside his office and succumbed to jis injuries at a hospital.
Earlier, television artiste Amreen Bhat was gunned down by Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in the Chadoora area of Budgam. Last month, a revenue department employee Rahul Bhat was murdered by militants in Budgam district.
