ACTOR Kareena Kapoor Khan highlighted her positive experience working with director Hansal Mehta on her upcoming film “The Buckingham Murders,” which marks her debut as a producer.

The film, set in the UK, is a murder mystery where Kareena Kapoor plays Jasmeet Bhamra, a grieving cop investigating a child’s disappearance. She praised Mehta’s commitment to the film’s authenticity, noting that he made her feel comfortable in her role.

The film, produced by Kareena alongside Ektaa Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, is set for release in both English and Hindi on September 13.

Kareena emphasized that language should no longer be a barrier in cinema, as the film mixes both English and Hindi dialogues to reflect the reality of life in the UK.

“Today, you can’t say that because a film has song and dance, so you’ll put it in a box that is a mass picture. If a film is good, people will watch it,” she remarked.

At the trailer launch, Mehta and Kareena both spoke about the film’s universal appeal, particularly in its portrayal of a mother’s emotions.

“A mother’s emotion is universal and the entire world connects to it,” Mehta said, with Kareena adding that “there is no language of mother’s love.”

The cast also includes Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen, with the screenplay penned by Aseem Arrora, Kashyap Kapoor, and Raghav Raj Kakker.

Kareena described working with Ektaa Kapoor as a strong collaborative experience, referring to her as the “backbone” of the project.

“The Buckingham Murders” is slated to release in theatres on September 13.
