HOLLYWOOD actress Jessica Alba has confirmed her divorce from her husband of 16 years, Cash Warren.
In a statement posted to Instagram, the 43-year-old star shared her decision after years of personal growth and reflection.
“I’ve been on a journey of self realisation and transformation for years — both as an individual and in partnership with Cash,” Alba said.
“I’m proud of how we’ve grown as a couple and in our marriage over the last 20 years and it’s now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals.”
Alba and Warren, 45, first met in 2004 on the set of Fantastic Four and married in 2008. They have three children: daughters Honor, 16, Haven, 13, and their seven-year-old son, Hayes.
The actress emphasised that the couple will continue to prioritise their children. “We are moving forward with love and kindness and respect for each other and will forever be family. Our children remain our highest priority and we request privacy at this time,” she added.
The announcement follows reports in the media that Alba and Warren had already separated and were planning a divorce.
A source told US Weekly that the couple had faced difficulties during their marriage.
Despite their challenges, the couple had recently celebrated their son’s seventh birthday together.
Alba began her acting career at age 13 in Camp Nowhere (1994) and got her big-screen breakthrough Honey in 2003.
She starred in numerous box office hits including Fantastic Four (2005), Good Luck Chuck (2007), Little Fockers (2010), and Mechanic: Resurrection (2016).
