THE International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) will join in the global celebration of Lord Ram’s ‘return’ to the northern Indian holy town of Ayodhya and the inauguration of the temple dedicated to him on January 22.
On the day, Bhaktivedanta Manor, the leading ISKCON temple in the UK, will be opening up the opportunity for pilgrims to take ‘darshan’ of Lord Ram, Sita, Lakhsman and Hanuman who are worshipped there since 1981.
To commemorate the occasion, ISKCON worldwide also has planned to feed 100,000 pilgrims daily (and 10,000 daily in the Ayodhya region), besides holding festivals promoting the chanting of God’s names (especially “Hare Krishna” and “Hare Rama”).

“We mark the legacy of Sri Ram and His teachings on dharma and sacrifice. Lord Ram is the beacon of righteousness, spiritual truth and morality and through his example we pray that the world is ennobled by his example”, said Visakha Dasi, president, Bhaktivedanta Manor.

Bhaktivedanta Manor has been holding celebrations leading up the day, and the day itself will be filled with devotions, kirtan, prasad and auspicious ceremonies.
It will continue with its celebrations up till the festival of Ramnavami in April.
