Defending champions Gujarat Titans will meet Chennai Super Kings in the opening encounter of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 in Ahmedabad on March 31. The second game will be between Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders the next day, i.e., April 1 in Mohali. The third game will also take place the same day in Lucknow between Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals.
April 2 will also see a double-header as Rajasthan Royals will meet Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore taking on Mumbai Indians.
The 2023 edition of the tournament, which kicked off in 2008 an has grown into one of the richest tournaments in the world, will see 10 teams like last year and the matches will be in 12 venues. Apart from the home grounds of the 10 teams, matches will also be held in Dharamsala and Guwahati.
The final league game will be played on May 21. A total of 70 league matches will be played, including 18 double headers. The final will be played on May 28.
Each team will play seven home and as many away matches.
The 10 teams have been divided into two groups
Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants have been clubbed in Group A while Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans in Group B.
The IPL 2023 venues are as follows – Ahmedabad, Mohali, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Mumbai, Guwahati and Dharamsala.
